Trash Bags

Things have been pretty busy for me lately. I’ve been given some new job responsibilities and I’ve moved into an apartment. Since I’m no longer in a hotel, I went to the mall to buy some trash bags. After looking around for 5 minutes, I asked one of the employees where I could find them. They pointed to the other side of the store and said “sir, just go straight.” I walked straight to the end of the aisle and saw no trash bags. I saw another employee nearby and asked him where I could find trash bags. He pointed in the direction I just came from and said “sir, just go straight.”

I turned around and walked back and looked around the toiletries section. Finally I asked another employee, who then asked her colleague if they knew where the trash bags were. Her colleague told me that they were out of stock. I would imagine a product as common as trash bags to be something that is always in stock.

Next I went upstairs to try my luck in another store. When I asked an employee where I could find trash bags, they told me to go to the first store I went to. Then I asked them if there are any other stores where I could find trash bags. Their response was “I would have no idea sir.” So I then asked them where they go to buy their trash bags. I was told they go to “general” stores. As opposed to “specific” stores?

I decided to give up the search and went to lunch at a nearby hotel. After my meal, I went to the front desk to ask them where I could find trash bags. They told me to go to the first store I went to. Then I asked them where they buy their trash bags. They told me they use the bags they get from going shopping. It seems to have come full circle.

You would think something as basic as buying trash bags would only take 5 minutes. I spent an hour looking and never found them. I guess I’ll use the bags I got from shopping for now.
